Did You Know?

There is a beautiful quiet beach, with lovely sand, woodland walks (Where you can see rare Red Squirrels - lots of them) miles of sand dunes to shelter in & its about the closest beach to Stoke-On-Trent
Just 75 miles away & mostly motorway

Take a picnic (Toilets there but no cafe)
Take binoculars - lots of wildlife + large ships heading for Liverpool
Take your trunks & a towel (Its won awards for water standards)
Take a kite
Take a bucket & spade - lovely sand
Take nuts for the RED squirrels
Take your dog - Classed as a rural beach dogs are allowed all year round
Be responsible - Dogs must be kept on a lead while on the squirrel walk
Clean up after them - bins provided - this is a beautiful beach, lets keep it that way

Formby

Or

How about this?

Just a few miles North of Formby you have Ainsdale

Here you can actually drive onto the beach in your car - park for a picnic and enjoy the lovely sand with all the benefits of being able to store things in your car when not in use and no walking carrying chairs etc

The main part when you drive on has lifeguards during busy times and a dog ban in place, NB if taking your dog don't be put off as you approach by the large NO DOGS sign - as you get closer you see this relates to the area directly  in front, you have to drive along the beach and you are soon out of the dog free zone.
We take our dog - he loves it >>>

Ainsdale

Just drive down Shore Road from the Town centre
For Sat Nav users a nearby postcode is PR8 2QB
Large toilet facilities by the main beech entrance
£8.00 charge per car to drive onto the beach (August 2020)
NB. Not been but I believe out of season Oct to March the ticket shed isn't staffed,
it may be free but walk on only
